200 tonne twin chainlifter
3D imagery helped the client achieve:
-
Improved turnaround over offshore photography and film
-
An infinite flexibility of models and textures
This 200 tonne Chain lifter was modelled from photographic and video reference to create a high realism 3D model, allowing a very precise series of dynamic stills to be created. As the logistics of staging and photographing such a complex piece of equipment offshore were prohibitive, a 3D model allowed the exact shots to be prepared and rendered to high resolution, with ease, flexibility and short-notice delivery .
-
A variety of simulated environments
-
Consistency in any future client material
The finished result comprised a large presentation sheet featuring both 3D perspective views alongside orthographic 'elevations' showing top, front, back and side views showing off the chain lifter from all angles.
